What we process

Guests: a random temporary ID, the display name and avatar you choose, and live connection data needed to run the room. Accounts: your username, avatar and a hashed password (never the password itself). Reports: the reporter's and reported user's temporary IDs, the reason, and a timestamp. Moderation: an audit log of actions such as mutes, kicks, bans and role changes. Hosting: our hosting provider may log IP addresses and request details for security and operations.

What we don't store

Hello Stranger does not record or store audio or video.

Live Room chat history

So that chat does not disappear when you leave a room, Live Rooms keep the most recent messages of each room (up to 200, with the sender's display name and avatar) and show the latest 100 to people who join. They are deleted when the room is closed. Do not share sensitive personal information in a room.

Third parties

Voice and video in Live Rooms use LiveKit as a media provider and are relayed through it. Advertising, if shown, is provided by Google AdSense.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in or identify your guest session; it isn't used for advertising. If ads are shown, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads. See Google's advertising policies for details and your choices.

Your choices

You can use the site without an account. To ask about or delete account data, write to REPLACE_WITH_YOUR_EMAIL.
